City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

Good Reads Description:

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her new found powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments

Thoughts...

So, I just finished City of Glass…this one only took me a little longer than the others because of real life. I do have a normal full time job (booo). However, this one was just as good as the first two books were.  LOVE IT.
All of the loose ends were tied up and I feel like we got our happily ever after in this book. This book kept me on my toes!  I had an idea of what would happen, but I had NO idea on how it was going to happen. There were some great plot twists (Sebastian!!!). I found myself crying, laughing, and gasping in several parts of the books. It honestly made me laugh at myself when I realized I had a huge tear running down my check.  I was totally immersed in this book.  I can’t say enough wonderful things about it.  Just go out and pick up this series, it is definitely worth it!
Now, I am a little bit concerned with the fact that there is a fourth book (and soon to be fifth and sixth). Don’t get me wrong, I am starting the fourth book, City of Fallen Angels, this afternoon. But, the ending to this trilogy was perfect. Just perfect! I can’t think of anything that I would have liked to happen any differently. So now we are continuing the story and I just don’t want to ruin a good thing.  But, I must have faith in the author, Cassandra Clare. She wrote a wonderful series so far so I will keep on going. Can’t wait to read the next one….
